Saudi Arabia announces nationwide curfew on Eid holidays



The Saudi Interior Ministry has announced that a strict curfew will be imposed across the country on the occasion of Eid.

According to the Saudi state news agency, a full curfew will be imposed across the country from May 23 to May 27, according to the Saudi Interior Ministry. Officials say there will be a nationwide curfew and lockdown during the five Eid al-Fitr holidays to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

According to the Saudi Interior Ministry, gatherings of more than five people will be banned during the curfew. Citizens will also have to observe social distance during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. According to the new order, the curfew will be partially relaxed from 9 am to 5 pm, but it will not apply to Makkah.
According to the government's announcement, a complete curfew will remain in Makkah during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, anyone will not allowing to enter or leave the city during the five-day curfew, economic and social activities will be exempted as per the decree issued on April 25.

It should be noted that the Saudi government had earlier imposed a 24-hour curfew in the areas affected by the corona virus. However, it was relaxed before the start of Ramadan.

So far, 264 people have been killed and more than 42,000 infected with the corona virus in Saudi Arabia. This is the highest number in the six GCC countries. Gatherings and pilgrimages are also banned in the holiest cities of Makkah and Madinah. The government has also banned the payment of Umrah.
